Watford V Wigan Match Preview.
Watford play newly relegated Wigan Athletic tommorow in the Sky Bet Championship at Vicarage Road. This is the first time that these two sides have met since the 2006/07 season. Watford currently lie in 5th position in the table whilst Wigan currently lie in 11th and do have a game in hand. Wigan are the current FA Cup holders and are playing in the Europa League this season. However, a week after winning the cup, Wigan were relegated from the Premier League. The Latics are managed by Owen Coyle who took over in the summer after Roberto Martinez took up the oppourtunity of becoming Everton manager. Wigan made some astute signings in the summer. The Latcis signed Scott Carson, Stephen Crainey, Ryan Shotton (Loan), Thomas Rogne, James Perch, Leon Barnett, Chris McCann, James McClean, Nick Powell, Grant Holt and Marc Antoine Fortune. As well as this, they managed to keep hold of the likes of Shaun Maloney and Callum McManaman who were the Latics star performers last term. The danger man will be Maloney who is a free kick specialist and has scored 3 goals this season. With Wigan searching for points and the Hornets wanting to stretch their unbeaten run, this makes to be an interesting clash.
For Watford, Almen Abdi is out for the Hornets with a foot problem. Josh McEachran should return after limping off in midweek with a back strain. Nyron Nosworthy and Tommie Hoban are out.
For Wigan, Marc Antoine Fortune should return for the Latics for tommorows match. Grant Holt and Ivan Ramis are out whilst Shaun Maloney is a doubt.
