Referee for Southampton and Preston North End games are confirmed.
The referee for this Sunday’s Barclays Premier League match against Southampton, at Vicarage Road, has been announced.
Andre Marriner will be the man-in-the-middle and this will be his 1st Premier League match of the season.
The West Midland’s official is a vastly experienced referee, having took charge of 203 matches in the top flight.
He has been on the select group list since 2005 and you have to back to the 2009/10 season, to see the last time that Marriner refereed the Hornets.
Marriner took charge of the Golden Boys 3-2 defeat to Coventry, at Vicarage Road, in September 2009 and that was the last encounter involving the Golden Boys, that the West Midland’s official took charge of.
He officiated 33 games in all competitions last season, 20 of those being in the Premier League, handing out 125 yellow cards and 2 red.
Marriner’s only game so far this season, was Wolves draw with Hull City on Sunday 16th August.
For Tuesday’s Capital One Cup tie against Preston North End, Staffordshire official Stephen Martin will be the man in charge.
Martin has only refereed the Hornets once previously, which came in the Golden Boy’s 3-2 defeat in the Capital One Cup against Norwich, in September 2013.
The Staffordshire official, who referees in The Football League, has taken charge of 4 matches this season in all competitions, handing out 14 yellow cards.
Last season, Martin officiated 36 games, 10 of which in the Championship, handing out 94 yellow cards and 5 red.
