The referee for Saturday’s away fixture against Newcastle United has been announced by the Premier League.

Roger East from Wiltshire will be the man in the middle and this will be his first Premier League match of the season.

East is a relatively new official on the Select Group list having only been promoted in 2013, after a number of years as a referee in The Football League.

To date, he has taken charge of 27 Premier League matches and you have to look back to the 2013/14 season to view the last time that East took charge of the Hornets.

The last Watford match that East took charge of was the Golden Boys 3-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Championship during November 2013.

The Wiltshire official has taken charge of three games this season, all of which coming in The Football League and has handed out 11 yellow cards and 1 red.

Last season, East officiated 31 games in all competitions, handing out 101 yellow cards and five red.
