Reading vs Watford Match Preview.

Watford head to the Madejski stadium on Saturday to play Reading in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Golden Boys looking to build on their back-to-back victories in recent weeks.

The Hornets come in to the match in 6th position, and depending on results, they could move up to 3rd place in the table. Whereas, Reading lie down in 16th position in what has been a difficult season to date for the Royals.

During the two matches between the sides last season, Watford fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at the Madejski stadium in August 2013, thanks to a late effort from Diego Fabbrini, whilst Reading snatched a 0-1 victory over Watford in the return fixture at Vicarage Road in January thanks to a Kaspars Gorkss goal, in what as a tight contest.

Reading are managed by former West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke. Clarke, who was also assistant coach to Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, took over this week after Nigel Adkins was sacked as Royals manager on Monday, with the club sitting in 16th position in the table.

Reading’s key player tomorrow will be striker Glenn Murray who is on loan from Crystal Palace. Murray has scored six goals for the Royals this season and scored 31 goals in 42 games for Crystal Palace when he was last in the division with the Eagles back in the 2012/13 season.  He has proved himself to be one of the best strikers in the division on his day, and the Hornets defence will have to keep a close eye on him if they aim to bag those all important three points.

Despite sitting in 16th place and losing their last match against Birmingham 6-1, Reading cannot be underestimated especially after the appointment of Steve Clarke as manager, which will undoubtedly give the players a boost in confidence. The Royals will be aiming to get Steve Clarke off to a good start as Reading Manager, so the Hornets will have to put in a good performance if they want to come away from the Madejski with those 3 points.

Team News.
