Doyley Signs New Contract.
Yesterday ( Wednesday 26th June 2013), Watford announced that fans favorite Lloyd Doyley had signed a new one year deal at the club. The academy graduate, now 30, is a firm fans favorite among fans and is the first name everyone looks for in the starting lineup. The 2012/13 season was a successful one for the defender. Doyley made his 400th appearance for the club during the 1-0 away win over Hull City in April 2013. As well as this Doyley went on to make 39 appearances for the Club including a impressive performance during the play off final against Crystal Palace at Wembley. He also scored his second goal for the Hornets during the 2-1 away defeat to Bolton after a cross into the box looped over Adam Bodgan and into the goal. As well as this, Doyley received his first call up for Jamaica in March 2013 and also made his international debut during the 2-0 defeat to Costa Rica. He has now made 409 appearances for the Golden Boys since becoming a professional in 2001. Manager Gianfranco Zola was pleased with the new deal for the defender after his impressive displays as part of the back three for the hornets.
