Watford have signed 12 players over the past week on Permanant Deals with 2 players leaving the club. 6 of the loanees from last season have signed permanant contracts with the club. Midfielder and player of the season, Almen Abdi has signed a three year contract with Watford after scoring 12 goals for the Hornets last season. Fellow Midfielder Cristian Battochio has also signed a three year deal for the hornets after scoring 2 goals last season, one of which winning the goal of the season award. Popular defender Marco Cassetti has also signed a one year permanant deal with the Hornets after making 36 appearances for the golden boys last season. His coolness in the back three earned him the phrase 'Cool as Cassetti'. Fellow Defender Joel Ekstrand has also joined the club on a three year permananat deal. He made 36 appearances for the Golden Boys last season scoring once. All have joined from Udinese on permanant deals. Wing Back Daniel Pudil has signed a 4 year permanant deal after completing a season long loan last year. He scored one goal in 37 appearances last season. Scottish Wing Back Ikechi Anya has also signed a permanant deal at the club. After making 25 appearances last season scoring 4 goals, the wing back has put pen to paper on a three year permanant deal. Both join from Spanish Side Granada.

As well as last years loanees, Watford have also added some new faces. From Udinese, Javier Acuna, Gabrielle Angella, Marco Davide Faraoni and Diego Fabbrini have all signed permananat deals with the club. Striker Javier Acuna signs on a three year permanant deal from Udinese. Udinese announced the signing of the former Real Madrid B striker last month but they only did that so that Watford could sign him and so that they wouldnt pay any money for him. The Paraguayan has spent the past two seasons on loan at spanish side Girona scoring 21 goals in 56 appearances. He scored 17 goals last season for Girona as the Spanish Side reached the play offs. Defender Gabrielle Angella has signed a five year permanant deal from Udinese. He made 14 appearances for the Italian side last season and is an Italian Under 21 international. Udinese fans were dissapointed to see him leave. Wing Back Marco Davide Faraoni has joined the club signing a five year deal. He was signed by Udinese as part of the deal that took Samir Handanovic to Inter Milan. He made 10 appearances for the Italian side last year. Striker Diego Fabbrini has also joined Watford on a permanant deal. The Italian has signed a 4 year deal with Watford. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Palermo scoring once in eight games. He made his full Italy debut in August 2012 against England. Since joining Udinese in 2010, Fabbrini has scored 3 goals in 34 appearances.

From Granada, Holding Midfielder Iriney Santos has joined the Hornets. The Brazillan has joined on a two year deal for an undiclosed fee. The 32 year old has had spells at Ray Vallecano, Celta Vigo, Almeria and Betis before joining Granada in 2012 making 25 appearances during the 2012/13 season.

Lastly, Reece Brown has joined the Hornets on a two year deal for a free transfer after his release from Mancheter United. The Defender is the brother of ex United Defender Wes Brown. The defender has been to Italy with the Hornets where he has been on trial and has done enough to convince Gianfranco Zola to sign him on a permanant deal. He never made an appearance for Manchester United despite being on their books since the age of 9. He has had loan spells at Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham, Coventry and Ipswich. He has signed a two year deal at the club.

Two players have left Vicarage Road for pastures new. Defender Lee Hodson has joined MK Dons on a one year deal with an option of a second for a free transfer. The Academy Graduate, made 83 appearances for the Hornets scoring once in a four year proffesional stay at the club. He was loaned out last season to Brentford making 13 appearances. The second player to leave Vicarage Road is Carl Dickinson after his contract was terminanted by Mutual Consent. The defender was signed by Sean Dyche in 2011 from Stoke for an undisclosed fee and made 43 appeances in a two year stay at the club scoring twice. He found it difficult to break into the team last year after being a regular under Sean Dyche and was sent out on loan to Portsmouth and Coventry. He has since joined Port Vale on a one year deal.
