Number 30 - Costel Pantilimon

Costel Pantilimon joined Watford in January 2016 from Sunderland, with the Romanian goalkeeper putting pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract at Vicarage Road. Pantilimon is mainly remembered for his time at Manchester City, whom he spent three seasons with and largely played second fiddle to Joe Hart. The 6ft 8in stopper moved to City initially on loan from Politehnica Timișoara in August 2011 and after making four appearances during the 2011/12 season, the deal became permanent the following summer. He went on to represent the Citizens a further 25 times in the following two seasons and he was part of the squad which won the Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellergrini. Pantilimon left City and moved to Sunderland in August 2014 to secure more first team action. The Romanian was the Black Cat's number one during the first half of the 2015/16 season, but he fell out of favor with Sam Allardyce and was allowed to leave in the January transfer window. He moved to Watford on the 19th January 2016 and made his debut for the Hornets during the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Pantilimon went on to make 4 appearances during his first six months at Vicarage Road, where he largely acted as back-up to Heurelho Gomes. On loan at Deportivo
