Watford vs Arsenal Match Preview.

The first of the so called 'big four' visit Vicarage Road this weekend, as the international break comes to an end and action resumes in the Barclays Premier League.

Arsene Wenger's Arsenal are Watford's opponents, in a match which will be televised on Sky Sports, with the Gunners looking to build on their impressive victory over Manchester United before the international break.

The Hornets on the other hand, will be looking to keep their decent home record intact and will be hoping to add to the one goal that they have scored on home turf this season.

Quique Sanchez Flores' side's draw with Bournemouth at the start of the month sees them sit in 12th place in the table with 10 points and they will be looking to seal their second home win of the season against the Gunners on Saturday evening.

You have to look back to the 2006/07 season to view the last time that Arsenal previously visited Vicarage Road. On that day, Arsene Wenger's men ran out 2-1 winners, in a match that was played on Boxing Day in 2006.

Arsene Wenger is the manager of Arsenal, a tenure that has lasted for nineteen years, and the Frenchman has led the Gunners to success in a number of competitions, the most recent of which being in the FA Cup last season, where they beat Aston Villa 4-0 at Wembley.

A brief look over the squad at the Emirates Stadium cannot pass without highlighting Chile international, Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez is a player that the Pozzo's know only too well, having secured his signature for Udinese in April 2006. At the time, the dynamic forward was unknown, having signed from Cobreloa for a fee believed to be in the region of 1.7 million euros.

After scoring 20 goals in 95 appearances for the Zebrette, Sanchez was sold to Barcelona for £30 million before he then moved to Arsenal for a similar fee in July 2014.

The Chile international was one of the stars in the Premier League last season and he has hit the ground running once again, notching five goals in 11 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this term.

Saturday's game will arguably be one of the toughest matches of the season for the Hornets, especially with the Gunners' form in the Premier League so far this season.

However, Arsenal's defence can be rather shaky at times, as they have shown against the likes of Leicester City and Olympiakos, so the Hornets could nick themselves a goal or two should they put significant pressure on the Gunners defence.

It should be an intriguing game at Vicarage Road on Saturday and one that will certainly contain goals.

Team News.

For Watford, Allan Nyom, Valon Behrami and Ikechi Anya should all be fit to start for the Golden Boys. Jose Jurado misses out once again through injury whilst Joel Ekstrand and Tommie Hoban are long term absentees.

For Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for the Gunners due to a hip problem, whilst Laurent Koscielny will be assessed. Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta should be available to return.
