Watford V Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview.
Watford play Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow at Vicarage Road in the Sky Bet Championship as the Hornets hope to get back to winning ways after a 8 match winless run. Watford currently lie in 12th place in the Championship whilst managerless Sheffield Wednesday currently lie in 23rd place. Last season, The Hornets did the double over Sheffield Wednesday with a 4-1 win at Hillsbrough in November thanks to goals from Fernando Forestieri, Alex Geijo, Troy Deeney and Mark Yeates whilst a Fernando Forestier double in March sealed a 2-1 to the Horents. Sheffield Wednesday sacked manager Dave Jones a couple of weeks ago due to a poor start to the season with Stuart Gray taking over. In Grays first game as caretaker manager, Wednesday managed to beat Leicester 2-1 but they succumbed to a narrow 1-0 defeeat to Nottingham Forest last weeked. Wednesdays danger man on Saturday will be Sunderland loanee Connor Wickham. Wickham is in his second loan spell at Hillsbrough after spending a period of time on loan last season. Wikcham has scored 4 goals so far this season for Wednesday including an impressive double against Leicester City. After signing for Sunderland for a staggerin £8.1 million from Ipswich, Wickham struggled to live up to his reputation and was loaned out for the second half of last season. With Watford looking to get back on track after 8 games unbeaten and Sheffield Wednesday wanting to battle out of the relegation zone, it looks set to be a interesting game tomorrow at Vicarage Road.
For Watford, Manuel Almunia, Gabriele Angella and Josh McEachran all return for the Goldon Boys. Almen Abdi has returned to training but the game might come too soon for him. Joel Ekstrand misses out through suspension after picking up his 5th booking of the season. Lloyd Doyley, Essaid Belkalem, Tommie Hoban and Reece Brown are also out.
For Sheffield Wednesday, the Owls also have a long injury list. David Prutton, Giles Coke, Lewis Buxton and Michail Antonio are all out. Damian Martinez and Glenn Looves should keep their place in the side.
