Watford V Leeds Match Preview.
Watford play Leeds United at Vicarage Road tonight in the Sky Bet Championship as they seek to build on their 1-1 draw with Burnley at the weekend and inflict another defeat on the plumiting Leeds. Watford currently lie in 12th position and could move up to 11th on goal difference tonight if the Hornets win and Blackburn loose to QPR. Whereas, Leeds lie in 16th position and have lost their 4 previous matches in the league. During the match earlier this season at Elland Road, the match finished 3-3 as Troy Deeney scored a late equaliser for the Hornets who threw away a 2-0 lead. Leeds are managed by Brian McDermott and the off the field issues over ownership of the club has effected the performances on the pitch. The former Reading manager took over towards the end of last season and guided Leeds to a 2-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road last season ending the Hornets automatic promotion hopes. However it remains to be seen what McDermotts future at Leeds holds after tonights match as new owner Massimo Cellino has already sacked McDermott once when he didnt even own the club. Rumours are that Gianfranco Zola is being lined up to become Leeds new manager. The danger man tonight for Leeds will be Ross McCormack who haws been a shining light for Leeds and is currently the Championships top scorer with 27 league goals. The Hornets already know that McCormack can be a handful as he scored in the 3-3 draw earlier this season and at Vicarage Road on the final day of last season.
For Watford, Cristian Battochio is out due to the injury he sustained during the clubs 1-1 draw with Burnley. Lloyd Doyley, Park Chu Young and Fernando Forestieri but Forestieri has been running and could return this weekend. Fitz Hall has been training as he returns to fitness and could be involved.
For Leeds, full back Sam Byram is out with a hamstring injury and is joined on the sidelines by Rudolph Austin and Jimmy Kebe. Alex Mowatt or Luke Murphy could be recalled to replace Byram.
