Watford V Derby Match Preview.
Watford play Derby County tommorow at Vicarage Road in the Sky Bet Championship in a game which will be the future match on the Football League Show. Watford currently lie in 5th position whilst Derby lie in 10th. During the two matches between these two sides last season, Derby ran out 5-1 winners at Pride Park whilst Watford won the returning fixture 2-1 at Vicarage Road in February. Derbys manager is now Steve McClaren after the midlands club harshly sacked Nigel Clough after their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. McClaren has been in charge for two games and has seen a 4-4 draw with Ipswich and a 3-1 win over Leeds. Their will be two names that Watford fans will recognise in the Derby Squad and those two names are Craig Forsyth and John Eustace. Forsyth joined Watford in the summer of 2011 and stayed with the Hornets for two seasons before signing for Derby over the summer after spending the latter half of the season their. During his Watford career Forsyth made 26 appearances for Watford scoring 5 goals. Former Watford captain John Eustace is also the other name Watford fans will recognise. Signed in January 2008, Eustace was given the Captains armband from the start of the 2010 season and made 157 appearances for the Hornets over 5 years at the Club scoring 16 goals. His Watford career seemed to be in tatters during the latter part of the 2008 season when Brendan Rodgers sent him out on loan to Derby where he scored against the Hornets in the last game of the season. But when Rodgers left and Malky Mackay came in, Eustace became a first team regular and played the majority of games during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. Eustace was hampered by injuries last season. Although the Hornets did offer him a player/coach role, Eustace decided to move on and was released at the end of the season as he felt that he wanted to play football for a few more seasons at least. Eustace will be remembered for his two overhead kick goals and his fighting spirit and commitment. Derby's danger man tommorow will be 18 year old Will Hughes. Hughes has been linked with many top clubs over the past two seasons and is seen as a potential star for the future.
For Watford, Troy Deeney is a doubt because of a calf strain. Marco Davide Faraoni misses out through suspensions whilst Almen Abdi also remains on the sidelines. Nyron Nosworthy and Tommie Hoban are also out. Lloyd Doyley may start but could be on the bench after arriving back on Wednesday from International Duty.
For Derby, new loan signing Simon Dawkins should be involved in the squad. Mason Bennett could start whilst Will Hughes should also be fit. However, Derby do have their fair share of injuries. Johnny Russell, Paul Coutts, Jeff Hendrick James Bailey, Adam Legzdins, Shaun Barker and Mark O'Brien are also out.
