Watford V Charlton Match Preview.

13/09/2013 16:55

Watford play Charlton at Vicarage Road tommorow in the Sky Bet Championship as they hope to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat against Blackpool two weeks ago. Watford currently lie in 7th place in the table with 8 points whilst Charlton lie in 17th place with 4 points. During the two matchs last season, Watford beat Charlton 2-1 at the Valley in October thanks to Almen Abdis superb free kick. Whilst on New Years Day at Vicarage Road, Charlton ran out 4-3 winners thanks to poor defending from the Hornets. Yann Kermogant will be Charltons key player for tommorws match. French striker Kermogant was top scorer for Charlton last season scoring 12 goals two of which coming against the Hornets in the 4-3 victory over Watford. This season Kermogant has scored 2 goals for Charlton and continues to spear head the Addicks attack. A familiar face can be found by Hornets fans in Charltons squad. That name will be Marvin Sordell. Sordell joined the Addicks in the summer transfer window on a season long loan deal from Bolton. Sordell came through the youth ranks at Watford and turned pro with the Hornets. He scored 27 goals in 73 appearances for the Hornets before joining Bolton for £3 Million pounds in January 2012. He scored a penalty for Bolton last season against Watford in Feburary 2013. Watford won the game 2-1. It looks like it will be an exciting match tommorow and one Watford should hopefully win.

Team News.

For Watford, Almen Abdi is fit for the match after recovering from a foot injury. Diego Fabbrini is a doubt for the Hornets. All players who were on international duty over the past two weeks are all fit to play as well. Long tern absentees Nyron Nosworthy and Tommie Hoban are both out but should return to training soon.

For Charlton, new signings Cameron Stewart and Ben Alnwick are fit whilst Chris Fully also returns from Injury. Charlton should field the same lineup that beat Leicester 2-1. Solly could come in for Lawrie Wilson but Chris Powell should not make too many changes.
