Watford V Barnsley Match Preview.
Watford play Barnsley today at Vicarage Road in the Sky Bet Championship with the Hornets looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Doncaster on tuesday night after a late Billy Sharp winner. Watford currently lie in 11th place in the table and a win today could see them move up to 10th place three points behind Ipswich depending on results. Whereas, Barnsley currently lie in 23rd poistion and are in a relegation dogfight as they aim to avoid relegation to League 1. During the match earlier this season at Oakwell, the Hornets ran out 5-1 winners with a fantastic goal from Ikechi Anya capping off the victory. Barnsley are currently managed by Danny Wilson after sacking previous manager David Flitcroft earlier this season. Wilson previously managed Barnsley between 1994-1998 and has also managed clubs like Sheffield United, Swindon Town and Sheffield Wednesday. He was appointed Barnsley manager on the 17th December 2013 after a dismal run of form under David Flitcroft. Wilson has overseen some improvement with the Tykes after they beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at Oakwell last weeked. Their danger man will be striker Chirs O'Grady who has netted 11 times for the Tykes this season. Hopefully the Hornets can continue their good home form under Beppe Sannino today and secure another victory.
For Watford, defender Joel Ekstrand is avaiable again after serving a two match suspension. Manuel Almunia is also avaiable after missing the midweek defeat through illness. Mathias Ranegie is suspended after being sent off in midweek whilst Fernando Forestieri is a doubt after injuring his toe in the week. Fellow striker Park Chu Young is also a doubt but could feature according to Beppe Sannino. Almen Abdi, Sean Murray and Fitz Hall are all out whilst Samba Diakite is unlikely to feature.
For Barnsley, midfielder Jim O'Brien is out for the remaider of the season because of a knee injury. Defenders Peter Ramage and Martin Cranie are also out after limping off in midweek. This means that Lewin Nyatanga and John-Yves M'voto could come into the side.
