Referees for Millwall and Nottingham Forest Matches Announced.
The referees for Watford’s next two Sky Bet Championship fixtures against Millwall and Nottingham Forest have been announced by The Football League.
For Saturday’s game against Millwall at the New Den, the referee will be Simon Hooper from Wiltshire. He has refereed the Hornets once this season, which came in Watford’s game against Brighton at Vicarage Road in October. The points were shared that day as the match ended 1-1, with Daniel Tozser and Lewis Dunk getting on the score sheet.
Hooper has officiated 34 games this season, 19 of which in the Championship, and has handed out 113 yellow cards and 3 red.
For next Wednesday’s trip to The City Ground to play Nottingham Forest, the referee will be Paul Tierney from Lancashire.
Tierney has refereed the Hornets twice this season. The first came in the Golden Boys 3-0 defeat to Norwich back in August, where he sent off Watford defender Joel Ekstrand for an alleged elbow on Nathan Redmond.
His second Watford game came back in December, when he took charge of the Hornets 0-5 win over Fulham in front of the Sky Sports Camera’s. He sent off Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli on that day and also awarded Watford a first half penalty.
Tierney has refereed 33 matches this season, 14 of which in the Championship, and has handed out 120 yellow cards and 6 red. He has also taken charge of one Premier League game this season.
