Referees for Millwall and Birmingham Matches Confirmed.
The referees for this Saturdays Sky Bet Championship clash against Millwall and next week’s game away to Birmingham have been confirmed by The Football League.
For this weekend’s match against Millwall at Vicarage Road, the referee will be Premier League official Robert Madley from West Yorkshire. Madley last officiated the Hornets back in the 2012/13 season when he refereed the Golden Boys 0-1 away victory over Hull City at the KC Stadium. Last season, he officiated 26 matches handing out 90 yellow cards and 10 red. So far this season, Madley has refereed eight matches (1 of which in the Premier League and 5 in the Championship) and has handed out 26 yellow cards and 3 red.
For Tuesday night’s trip to St Andrews to play Birmingham, the referee will be West Yorkshire official Mark Heywood. Heywood refereed the Hornets once last season which came in the 1-4 away victory over Sheffield Wednesday in March. Last season, Heywood officiated 29 matches across The Football League, handing out 96 yellow cards and 4 red. This season, the West Yorkshire official has refereed 11 matches handing out 38 yellow cards and one red.
