Referee for Middlesbrough match confirmed

The Premier League have confirmed that Wiltshire's Roger East will referee this weekend's match between Watford and Middlesbrough.

Watford will face Aitor Karanka's men on Sunday at 1:30pm at the Riverside Stadium, with the match being televised on Sky Sports.

East has refereed the Hornets once this season as he was the man-in-the-middle for Watford's draw with Southampton on the opening day of the Premier League season. Etienne Capoue put the Hornets ahead in the first half, before Nathan Redmond equalised for the Saints just before the hour mark.

The Wiltshire official sent off Watford midfielder Ben Watson in the second half for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity and the Golden Boys managed to hang on to secure a point on the opening day.

East is one of the relatively newer faces in the Premier League, with this being the fourth season that he has taken charge of matches in the top-flight.

This season he has taken charge of six matches in all competitions, brandishing 19 yellow cards and two red.
