Referee for first match of the season announced.

The referee for Watford’s first match of the season in the Barclays Premier League against Everton, has been announced.

 

Mike Jones from Chester will be the man in the middle. Jones has been a select group official since 2008 and has officiated 147 games in the top flight.

 

He refereed the Hornets once last season, which came in the Golden Boys pivotal 2-0 win over Middlesbrough, at Vicarage Road, in April.

 

Jones refereed 34 games last season in all competitions, 21 of which coming in the Premier League, and he handed out 117 yellow cards and 10 red.
