Referee For Final Game Of The Season Confirmed.
The referee for this weekend’s final Championship game of the season has been announced by The Football League.
This weekends match against Sheffield Wednesday, will be the Hornets final game in England’s second division, after they sealed promotion to the Premier League last weekend, and a win for the Golden Boys on Saturday will mean that they will win be crowned Champions of the Sky Bet Championship.
The referee for this weekends game against Sheffield Wednesday at Vicarage Road, will be select group official, Lee Probert.
Probert has refereed the Hornets once this season, which came in the 2-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth in January. He sent Gabriele Angella off that day after just 30 seconds, after he deemed him to be the last man, but the decision was overturned soon after the game.
He has refereed just 15 matches this term, after missing the first half of the season through injury, and has handed out 51 yellow cards and 4 red. Four of those games have come in the Premier League, with the most recent of these, being Hull’s 1-0 win over Liverpool on Tuesday night.
