Ranegie and Merkel sign with Bellerin extends loan
Watford yesterday announced the signgings of Udinese pair Mathias Ranegie on a three and a half year deal and Alex Merkel on a loan until the end of the season. Ranegie is a 6ft 5 Swedish striker who has found it difficult in Italy only scoring one goal in 24 appearances. However, his form in Sweden was good. He scored 13 goals in 25 games for Swedish Champions Malmo during the 2011-12 season and scored 36 goals in 81 appearances for BK Hacken. Alex Merkel is an exciting young German Midfielder who started off his career with AC Milan beofre transferring to Genoa. At the age of 18 he was dubbed the new Mario Gotze. After a succesful spell with Genoa, Udinese signed the youngster on a 5 year deal. He has found first team action hard to come by at Udiense and the midfielder has joined Watford on loan in order to get match action.
The other piece of good news that came yesterday was that Hector Bellerin had extended his loan deal until the end of the season. The Arsenal wing back impressed during his initial loan spell with the Hornets and has become a first team regular and his pace down the wing has torn some sides to pieces. All three playes are inelgibale for todays FA Cup match against Bristol City.
